Lighting & Fan Packages for New Homes and Renovations
Lighting Bonanza in Albury supplies complete lighting and ceiling fan packages for new homes and renovations, from a single room to a full house lot. Bring in your plans and our consultants will select downlights, pendants, fans, bathroom heaters and outdoor lights with you, then give you one list your builder and electrician can work from. We work with most local electricians and builders.
What is a house-lot lighting package?
A house-lot package is every light, fan and bathroom unit for the home chosen and supplied together, instead of picking fittings one at a time as the build goes on. It gives you a consistent look from room to room, one set of colour temperatures, and a single list for your electrician.
One of our customers summed it up in a review: 'expert advice from a single smart globe to a complete house lot when you're building. Works with most electricians and builders.' That is exactly the range of jobs we help with.
What goes into a new home package?
Every home is different, but most packages cover the following. We help you decide what each room needs rather than defaulting to the same fitting everywhere.
- LED downlights for general lighting in living areas, kitchens, hallways and bedrooms, in a matching colour temperature.
- Pendant lights over the kitchen island, dining table and entry, sized and spaced for the room.
- Ceiling fans for bedrooms, living areas and alfresco spaces, including DC fans and fans with lights.
- 3-in-1 bathroom heat, light and exhaust units, plus exhaust fans for toilets and laundries.
- Wall and vanity lights for bathrooms, hallways and bedsides.
- Close to ceiling lights and oysters for robes, laundries and utility areas.
- Exterior lights: entry and wall lights, sensor lights for driveways and paths, and garden lighting.
- Outdoor heat units for covered alfresco areas.
- Globes for any fittings that do not include integrated LEDs.
How does the process work with builders and electricians?
The best time to come in is before your electrician's rough-in, when cabling, switch positions, fan bracing and exhaust ducting are still easy to change.
- Selections appointment: bring your plans, electrical plan and any builder's lighting allowance to our Albury showroom.
- Room-by-room planning: we go through each space with you and compare fittings on display, with fans running and pendants lit.
- Fitting list: you get your selections set out room by room so your builder and electrician know what is going where.
- Supply: fittings on the floor and anything ordered from our 150+ suppliers are organised for your job.
- Installation: your licensed electrician installs everything. We work with most local electricians and builders.
- After you move in: we back up what we sell, and you can talk to someone face to face if an issue comes up.
Can you work within my builder's lighting allowance?
Yes, bring the allowance in and we will plan around it. Many standard builder allowances cover basic downlights and oysters. With the full list in front of you, it is easier to see where an upgrade makes a real difference, such as the island pendants or the main living area fan, and where a simple fitting is fine, such as a robe or linen cupboard.
Because we are independent and deal with over 150 suppliers, we can usually find options at different price points for the same look.
Building in Albury, Wodonga or the surrounding towns?
We plan lighting for homes on both sides of the border. Whether you are building in Thurgoona, Lavington or Jindera on the NSW side, or in Baranduda, Leneva or West Wodonga in Victoria, the process is the same: bring your plans to the Albury showroom and we will work through them with you.
The Border climate matters for a new home. Hot summers make good ceiling fans in bedrooms and living areas worth planning for, and cold winters are why so many people choose a 3-in-1 heat, light and exhaust unit for the bathroom. Covered alfresco areas often get both an outdoor fan and an outdoor heat unit so they can be used most of the year.
If you are building on the Victorian side, make sure your electrician is licensed to work in Victoria. Our selections work the same either way.
Renovating rather than building?
Renovations need a slightly different approach, because you are often matching new lights to existing ones or working around ceilings that are staying put. Bring photos of each room, the size of the existing ceiling holes if you are replacing downlights, and an old globe if you want to match the colour. We can help you choose fittings that cover old cut-outs and keep the colour of light consistent through the house.
What should I decide before coming in?
You do not need to have everything worked out, but it helps to think about a few questions first. Our new home lighting checklist goes through them room by room.
- Warm white, cool white or tricolour LEDs, and whether you want the same colour throughout.
- Which rooms need ceiling fans, and whether you want fans with lights.
- Where you want feature lighting, such as pendants over the island or a statement light in the entry.
- Which lights you want to dim.
- Whether you are interested in smart globes or smart fan controls.

Yes. We supply lighting and fan packages for new homes and renovations, from a single room to a complete house lot, and work with most local electricians and builders around Albury-Wodonga.
When should I choose my lighting for a new build?
Ideally before your electrician's rough-in, so cabling, switch positions, fan bracing and exhaust ducting can go in the right places. Bring your plans in as early as you can.
Can you work with my builder's lighting allowance?
Yes. Bring the allowance in and we will plan around it, showing you where an upgrade is worth it and where a simpler fitting will do.

No. We supply the fittings and your licensed electrician installs them. If you are building in Victoria, check that your electrician is licensed to work there.
Can I see the lights before choosing?
Yes. Our Albury showroom has more than 2,000 lights and fans on display, so you can compare pendants, downlights and running ceiling fans in person.
