Serving Albury-Wodonga, North-East Victoria & Southern NSW

Lighting Bonanza is based in Albury NSW, on the corner of Dean and David Streets, and looks after customers throughout Albury-Wodonga, North-East Victoria and Southern NSW. Some customers travel 150km to shop with us, because the showroom has more than 2,000 lights and fans on display and access to over 150 suppliers.

Why do people travel to Albury for lighting?

In many country towns the choice is a small lighting section at the hardware store or buying online without seeing the product. We are one of the largest independent lighting stores in rural Australia, and the showroom lets you see pendants lit, ceiling fans running and lamps side by side.

For a single replacement globe, a trip to Albury is rarely worth it. For a new home, a renovation, a set of ceiling fans or a feature light you will live with for years, seeing the options in person and getting advice from a team that has been doing this for more than 25 years usually is.

Which NSW towns do we serve?

On the NSW side, we look after customers in Albury itself and suburbs such as Lavington, Thurgoona, Springdale Heights and East Albury, as well as nearby Jindera. Further out, people make the trip from the Murray towns of Howlong and Corowa to the west, from Holbrook and Culcairn along the Hume and Olympic Highways to the north, and from Tumbarumba and the Upper Murray in the Snowy Valleys. If you are building in Jindera or Howlong, a new house usually means a full list of downlights, fans and bathroom heaters, and it makes sense to choose them all in one visit.

Which Victorian towns do we serve?

Wodonga is our closest Victorian neighbour, just across the Murray, and we have a separate page for Wodonga customers. Beyond Wodonga, customers come from Beechworth, Yackandandah and Tallangatta in the hills and valleys to the south and east, from Wangaratta along the Hume, and from Myrtleford and Bright in the Alpine valleys. Alpine and high-country homes tend to care about winter as much as summer, so bathroom heaters and outdoor heat units come up as often as ceiling fans.

If you are building or renovating in Victoria, remember that your electrician needs to be licensed to work in Victoria. The fittings we supply are the same on both sides of the border.

How can regional customers buy without making several trips?

The key is to do the thinking before you get in the car, so one visit covers everything.

  • Call 02 6021 8814 or send an enquiry with what you are looking for, so the team can think about options before you arrive.
  • Email photos of the rooms, room sizes, ceiling heights and your house plans ahead of time.
  • Browse our supplier catalogues online and note the products that catch your eye.
  • Check our online store for selected lights and ceiling fans that can be bought online.
  • Bring old globes, lamp bases and anything you need to match on the day.

What about delivery and click and collect?

In the meantime, the simplest approach is to call the team on 02 6021 8814 and talk through how best to get your order to you.

What happens if something goes wrong after I buy?

We back up what we sell. Buying from a local, independent store means that if an issue comes up, you can call or come in and talk to someone face to face, rather than chasing an online seller in another state.

When are we open?

Monday to Wednesday 9am to 5pm, Thursday 9am to 6pm, Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. We are closed on Sundays and public holidays. If you are driving a long way, Thursday gives you an extra hour at the end of the day.
