Tips before you buy
- Over a kitchen island
- Hang pendants roughly 750–900mm above the bench top and allow 600–750mm between each light. Two or three pendants suit most islands.
- Over a dining table
- Aim for a pendant (or linear bar) about half to two-thirds the width of the table, hung 750–850mm above the table surface.
- Pick the right globe
- Warm white (2700–3000K) creates a cosy feel. Many pendants use standard E27/B22 globes so you can change the look easily.
Common questions about pendant lights
How high should a pendant light hang above a kitchen island?
A good rule of thumb is 750–900mm from the bench top to the bottom of the pendant, adjusted for your ceiling height and how tall the people using the kitchen are.
Do you sell linear pendants?
Yes, we carry linear pendant bars and multi-light pendants, including the Telbix linear pendant collection, ideal over dining tables and kitchen islands.
Can I see pendants lit up in store?
Absolutely. Most of our pendants are hung and lit in the showroom so you can see the true size, colour and light spread.
