About the Ceiling Fan Extension Downrods
Mercator's metal downrods lower a ceiling fan to the right working height in rooms with raised or raked ceilings, and help steady the fan to reduce wobble. Standard rods suit most Mercator fans and come in 600mm and 900mm lengths in white, black, rubbed bronze, brushed chrome and bronze. There are also dedicated rods for the Caprice, Clarence and Rhino fans. As a guide, a 3.0m ceiling suits a 300 to 460mm rod and a 3.6m ceiling a 600 to 900mm rod, with blades at least 2.1m above the floor. A wiring loom is sold separately and must be ordered with the rod.
